Needs more Luke
Barely into Tales of Legendia, I am already skeptical of Calvin Senel Coolidge's status as a compelling main character since all he seems to do is protect his waif sister and ellipse at Old Men Sheriffs who are Actually Twenty Eight Years Old. Also he steals from hospitals.

EDIT: That is the third time I have mistaken the sword on the Weapon Shop sign for a cigarette. Graphics.

Legendia: Came for the story, stayed for the tsundere lady knight. Chloe is awesome.

Shirley can go die in a fire though. Man I hate Shirley.

She looks cool in the art.

Shirley I have no immediate feelings on besides her voice being a little grating. I appreciated her offering to help Senel keep watch on the ship, it's better than cowering below deck.

But of course the first thing she does when they hit land is get rescued. I'm hoping she has a bazooka hidden in one arm or something to make up for this shit.

And there is a point in the story where, while in the middle of being kidnapped by one guy, SHE IS KIDNAPPED BY SOMEONE ELSE.

Though I'm struggling to understand how he went from a MUST RESCUE SHIRLEY to a more laid back attitude toward getting to her, but I guess I had to go to requisite intro town or some shit rather than having him just leap into the first dungeon.

The music in the first area was nice? I seriously just started, but yeah, I did notice right away that the background music with the pretty voice lady singer was good.

It made me want a Tales of Terra so Keith Anyan could walk around to it.

...most pretty things make me want a Toward the Terra spinoff, though.

The point is, the soundtrack stays good, that's a relief. The town music was kind of dinky. For the sake of my respect for the composer I hope that's not a trend.
